  • Langevin Bridge, midtoad (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
This is the Langevin Bridge, one of Calgary's older bridges and a stylistic cousin to the Zoo Bridge. It transports south-bound automobile traffic but naturally is bidirectional for pedestrians, cyclist, skaters. It's widely used by Bridgeland/Riverside residents for riding or walking to downtown, and contrary to an earlier post is well-lit and safe at any hour. However, the pathway underpasses on both north and south side are frequented by vagrants so you may feel comfortable crossing the bridge at street-level.

This is a beautiful, Secure, clean and well run building. Those of us who liive here KNOW what kind of a gem it is. By mid 2007 the majority of us owners have upgraded and updated our units. The commercial neighbors are pushing paper all day. They are beyond quiet.
  • Moustache Pete's, Bob (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
For the most part, good staff and service. Good Prices. Overall, an inexpensive place for NW Calgary Professionals to take their significant others for Dining and Sports - the Ladies will enjoy the Dining, and the Men will enjoy the Sports. Less than 5 minutes away from virtually all of the Upscale Areas of the Communities of Edgemont, Hamptons, Hawkwood and Citadel. THE HEART- Of Northwest Calgary.

    There's a hostel upstairs here, largely French-speaking.
  • Calgary Tower, . (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
The tower was built in haste and in imitation of the Space Needle, which was completed in Seattle about a year before construction began in Calgary. As a consequence of the lack of forethought in design and the weather's effect on poured concrete, it looks like a shabby imitation of the Space Needle or the CN Tower, which was completed the year after the Calgary Tower. The Tower is becoming increasingly veiled by the glass office towers going up around it, which will make its inevitable implosion more challenging logistically but no less satisfying to those who regard it as a hopeless eyesore.
