The building was purchased by neighbouring Holt Renfrew, for the purpose of expanding their own operation. They plan to build a spa on the second floor.
Projected completion date: early-mid 2009.

A formerly popular, but now steadily declining pub & restaurant. The prices were reasonable when the live entertainment was frequent & high-caliber; now that it's neither, they're not really justifiable.

as a life long resident of university heights, i must say.... what a piece of crap and a waste of money this is. the city bulldozed usable park space to build this. as if that isn't bad enough, i am yet to see more than three cars on this road between foothills and the childrens' at any given time, yet i see no fewer cars short-cutting through the community.

beans are amazing, the coffee by the cup is horrible, yet their mixed drinks are excellent. a great hangout, and i love the cheap benches facing the street which are extremely effective for keeping eyes on the street; a completely rare concept in this god forsaken city.

The Big Four building used to be the home of, and still holds the Guiness Book of World Record for having the most indoor curling sheets (48 sheets).
The curling was removed in 1988 to facilitate a media location for the Winter Olympics and were never re-installed.
Between 1988 and June 2008 it was the home of the Stampede Casino.
It is named after the four ranchers who helped bankroll the first Stampede.
