    Shawnessey/Somerset water park. The kids are coming out of the splash pool and running over to the playground with bare feet. The tarmac is made up of that rubber stuff and in this heat, the kids are burning their feet. My little one and a half year old grandson burned his feet yesterday - 2nd and 3rd degree burns, all blistered and very painful. Please please please either put up some signs to warn parents or CLOSE this facility immediately . It is your responsibility to protect these young children. A little girl yesterday also burned her back and butt on the slide.

    As of March 2015 this object is not show in the correct location. The Circle 8 Speedway is (was) located in Calgary Southeast, just south of Paigan Trail and just West of Stoney Trail.

    Once an execrable tiff broke out between a married couple living in this block. The tiff occurred after the husband had lost all his cattle at his ranch due to an all-out murrain and he had lost as well as his fruit firstlings after a mighty freshet had destroyed all his orchards.

    I don't think it was ever a hotel. It was built in 1911 (according to it's historical designation) and functioned as an apartment building until conversion to office/retail in the early 1980's.
