Ugh ... Cowboys. The name alone is enough to conjure up images of fake tans, fake tits, and hundreds of silk-shirted douchebags.
  • The Point on 17th, bandneedsbeer wrote 18 years ago:
Wow, is The Point still in business? I haven't been there in 10 years, and it was terrible back then too.
  • Western Canada High School, bandneedsbeer wrote 18 years ago:
Western is the best. It has history and class, which in some ways makes it very un-Calgarian. It's a great place to go to high school with all the cool shops and restaurants nearby.
  • Sunnyside, bandneedsbeer wrote 18 years ago:
By far Calgary's most interesting neighborhood. Right across the river from Downtown, yet it is in many ways completely isolated from the rest of the city. It's surrounded on three sides by a steep hill. Take a walk through here some day ... it's like the neighborhood that time forgot. Tiny pre-war bungalows share a block with 80's low-rise apartment buildings. It's surprisingly peaceful and quiet considering where it is.
  • Crave Cupcakes, bandneedsbeer wrote 18 years ago:
Their cupcakes are like crack ... except a bit more expensive.
  • Julio's Barrio, bandneedsbeer wrote 18 years ago:
It used to be Red Robin ... not exactly fine dining, but far preferable to the current establishment.
